hey John. First of all, I'm glad you've taken the necessary steps to improve your situation. Good for you.

I think your pursuit of getting back to a healthy weight and focusing on a balanced lifestyle is definitely worthy. As far as metabolic damage, it's hard to say whether or not you did any or not. I'd say only time will really tell.

I am a 22 year old male. I suffered with "anorexia athletica" for a year and a
half or so. I
never starved myself but I did so much running and lifting, I never got in
enough food to
compensate. I am 5 10 and my weight hovered around 120 pounds for 1.5-2 years.
I changed my life recently and decided to get healthy. I have gained about 10
pounds in the last 8 weeks.

I know I have most likely done metabolic damage of some sort. I know it will
take time to fix. Is this a worthy pursuit though? Is my metabolism repairable.
I am currently eating around 2500-3000 calories a day in equal amounts of fat,
proteins, and carbs. It is mainly whole foods. The pnly supplements I use are a
vitamin, protein powder, digestive enzymes, and hydrochloric acid tablets.

I have seen some pretty inspiring stories of females who recovered from anorexia
and went on to become professional bodybuilders or figure competitors. I have
also found a few stories of males who had anorexia and later successfully did
bodybuilding (but not as many stories since not so many males succumb to
anorexia).
