I understand your viewpoint, really. However, I think you're misunderstanding the scope of this article. If my aim were to talk about improving your well being or living a fulfilling life, I would've written about it. However, this article was written to address some questions/ideas people have about losing body fat despite living a sedentary life.

Why are you so pissed off? ;)

Why does it always have to be about "losing weight"? Why, specifically, are people so possessed by the idea of reducing their body fat? Why not focus on improving the quality of your diet, on improving your cardiovascular and muscular ability and endurance? What the fuck does your relative body mass or fat level have to do with being healthy or living a fulfilling life?

By fucking with your diet, all that you will achieve is a temporary upset to your metabolic processes that will ultimately only undermine your health.

This seems like a major intellectual and ideological block that people have got to get around in order to make meaningful progress in improving their lives.

I totally agree. I also found it tiring to come home every night and have to prepare the three or four meals I would need to have ready for work. It's unnecessary and time wasting.

Good article.

That's the 2 major components of a diet indeed:
- Caloric deficit
- adherence

the rest is just details.

(note to self: hide pictures of kitten from girlfriend or she'll want one too)

PS Rach .. as in the klingon dish best served not quite dead yet ?
