Hello, I have been really busy lately and in case you haven’t noticed or have been reading all of my articles in your feed reader, my new design is now up and running. I am very pleased with the look and feel and John from DIYNinja’s did a great job. Fortunately, John lives in the same city, so I got the chance to meet up with him and discuss my website wants and needs as opposed to working together long distance. It was a wonderful collaboration and I definitely plan to work with him again in the future.

I was also contacted by Jamie Hale of MaxCondition for an interview. Check it out if you haven’t gotten the chance to read it yet. I have a deep appreciation for Jamie’s work and I have only recently become familiar with it. I had seen his name around the net for some time now but had no idea that he was so knowledgeable in the field of science based fitness. People, the dude is smart! Check out some of his articles for your own personal education.

Also, I just wrote an article titled Calorie Balance, Plain and Simple for Adrian at 36 Pounds. Adrian is a young guy writing for all the skinny guys out there trying to gain weight.

Lastly, the picture was taken by the famous Ethan James a few weeks ago. I am really pleased with how the photo shoot went and have quite a few new pictures for my portfolio.

I plan to make a few minor adjustments to the site in lieu of making it more user friendly. I may ad an extra page or so for you all to ask questions. Is there anything you would like to see more or less of? Any special topics you would like me to write about? Do you all have any requests or have any ideas on what you would like me to cover? My main goal is to serve, so any feedback would be great.

Site looks great! Congratulations!

BTW, I wish I could read your articles in my feedreader but you only publish a shortened version. It would be awesome if you would consider publishing the whole thing, because sometimes I just don’t feeling like opening yet another tab. Just a thought ;)

Hi JC,

Been quite a while since I haven’t posted. Well, some of my free time has been taken over by school. I decided I needed to change careers and working during the day and going to school afterwards till 11 p.m. it’s become exhausting.

My only free time is on Fridays and the weekend.

Got any good weekend exercise tips?

Jorge

@David: David, I always appreciate your input.

Your personal take on the three Macros. Pros and Cons (both physical and mental) of each type of eating plan.

Supplements? BCAAs, Whey, Cassein, ECA, etc. illegal stuff?

I could definitely give my opinion and thoughts for what their worth.

maybe do some audio or video to supplement the articles if you’ve got a camera or recorder?

Yup, this is something that has been on my mind for some time now. I just have to find time + another person good with a camera. I plan on doing a whole slew of exercise technique articles + videos to boot. In time I suppose.
thanks for all the ideas. Good stuff and very helpful.

Looks cool JC.

I know on some sites this has been beaten to death. However…

Your personal take on the three Macros. Pros and Cons (both physical and mental) of each type of eating plan.

Supplements? BCAAs, Whey, Cassein, ECA, etc. illegal stuff?

Fruit of course is always controversial and could be a fun topic.

Maybe check out Tom Venuto’s or Mark Sisson’s (the daily apple) blogs for some ideas – they are creative in coming up with new content regularly. Leigh Peele (as you’ve mentioned) has a nice site and I enjoy her podcasts – maybe do some audio or video to supplement the articles if you’ve got a camera or recorder?

For example Mark just did a post comparing Olive Oils and another one comparing Cheeses. Not sure if you want to get that technical.

Venuto, I’ve found, talks more about mental aspects of doing a or b. He also talks repeatedly about calorie restriction and limiting fast food (something you have kind of posted on). He gets less in detail with the micronutrients/health craze whatever you want to call it.

Really depends on what you want to cover and how long you want to blog. And how much you want to (or don’t want to) exhaust each topic.

When reading/learning, after some time following them you know before you read the jist of what they are going to say. A is good, B is bad. Do this, don’t do that, and this is a myth/unnecessary.

Repeating yourself is good, hammers points home. However, you can only say (for example, if your readers are trying to lose fat) – eat in a minor deficit and move more – in so many ways.

Hopefully something in that “mess” gave you an idea or two. ;)

@Yum Yucky: I am working on some things regarding the Q & A page as we speak. Trying to find something that will encourage more interaction instead of just having another contact form. I am consulting with some others that know a lot more than me about this customization stuff :)

Hey! You’re a cutie! (sorry, I couldn’t resist)

Q & A page is a good idea. And I’m always interested in training tips. I’m into intervals and bodyweight exercises, and always looking for new workouts.

@Jules: Heh, thanks for chiming in. I lurk around on your blog quite a bit. I love it.

@Pyj: Thanks, those are good ideas.

I’m looking forward to see some more user friendliness :)

Good photo too! I need to learn how to take photos of myself like that!

How about a blog about “The missing part from every fitness book – Why people claim that most diets don’t work”
Or one about motivation yourself to keep working out and eating properly.
